Back to regular High School!

I had been in Independent Study, a program much like homeschooling, for about a year. Being at home all the time  wasn’t good for me; I was getting better grades than I had been getting in High School, but I was hardly around other kids my age and it was really tough on my parents. They wanted me to get back in regular High School, so over Winter Break I earn the rest of the credits for the term (lots and lots of work), and then was able to get transferred.

We had been thinking about transferring to a new High School, that had recently opened to give me a fresh start, but there I would hardly know anyone and it’s further than my previous High School, Franklin. Already half of the school year had gone by and starting over didn’t sound right to me, so I went to Franklin, and I’m happy that I made the choice.

With my friends again

Franklin’s a big school; It wasn’t until Friday of the first week that I’d seen one of my best friends because of class and lunch schedules, as well as bus routes. I’m still getting greeted by friends in the second week of my being back! I have lots of great friends there and it’s nice to be with them again.

Classes

My Algebra class is a little awkward because I think everyone in there are Freshmen, but me. This happened because I couldn’t do Algebra as a class in Independent Study, and along with the workload from my other classes, it was too much. Now that I’m back in school it’s much more manageable, especially since the class provides just about enough time to finish any homework that we may have in class.

P.E. killed me. Bodies can’t take going so long without proper physical activity and then just jumping into such activities one day. It’s getting better in the second week, but my body’s still really sore.
