Where I’m at with my blog

I’ve been having a couple recurring thoughts about my blog and I feel like I should just post them and maybe get your feedback.

I feel like I can’t start blogging until I’ve moved past using another WordPress theme maker’s work, and am using my own design. I know, this is probably the stupidest thing, but being a ‘web designer,’ having a blog that’s mostly about web design, and yet am using a premade theme really annoys me. This is probably because I’d be weirded out if I was reading a web design blog with a premade theme. The reason for this is I just haven’t had that drive to design anything lately.

WordPress is Intimidating

WordPress is a big blogging platform, I feel like I must post big things on it. I haven’t had any ideas for posts that would attract anyone or get them to read; just short, small thoughts. But that’s what other people are known for, though, right? Small thoughts that lead to big things! Still, I feel intimidated.

Heck, only a few minutes ago I was thinking about integrating a Tumblr blog for short thoughts, into WordPress! I leaned back in my chair and thought about it. A blog in a blog? How silly and unneeded.
